Frequently Asked Questions of the Healing Workshop

The Better Living Classes of the Universal Foundation for Better Living has a fantastic curriculum whereby people everywhere can learn spiritual principles that can make a tremendous difference in their lives. After teaching these classes for more than 6 years, I realized that students get a chance to study and learn together, but would often return to their lives and attempt to use the principles with little support from the class or the teacher. Afterall, there is only so much time to cover the principles in the classroom (usually an hour and a half per class a week). It is always up to the student to apply those principles appropriately into the issues surrounding their lives

The Healing Workshop seeks to provide a venue where those wonderful concepts, spiritual truths and principles can be practiced, demonstrated and understood collectively. The Healing Workshop seeks to show how Truth can be used once it is known. Thus the healing workshop is experientially driven. The results (healing) often occur with shocking immediacy. The Healing Workshop is far more than lecture. The Healing Workshop is comprised of a wide variety of teaching/learning modalities, designed to immerse both the soul and the senses into a contemporary apprehension of the Spiritual. It is intensive, oftimes cathartic for some, and always, moving, eye-opening and revealing.

Books

The Holy Bible - The Healing Workshop requires an understanding faith and involves an allegorical interpretation of stories from the old and new testaments.

Christian Healing by Charles Fillmore - Many affirmative statements introduced in Christian Healing are used in the workshop.

Teach Us To Pray by Charles Fillmore - A greater understanding of prayer is garnered from this amazing work.

The Healing Letters by Myrtle Fillmore - Assignments given will remind one of the opportunity writing brings in the process of healing.

Before You Pray, Forgive by Rev. Dr. Mary Tumpkin - Forgivness is one of the first things we can practice to foster healing.

Scripture

The Teachings of Jesus The Christ - The Healing Workshop explores the behaviors and other "attitudes of being" that result in better living and the experience of heaven on earth.

The Acts of the Apostles - The mission of the Healing Workshop is loosely patterned after "The Acts". Since demonstration is tantamount, these scriptures provide tremendous inspiration.

The Epistles of Paul - A networking is offered through the Healing Workshop that models Paul's attempts to remain in contact with those he visited in his journeys.

Practicum

A 3-Part Practicum Approach Involving

1.) Personal self assessment, spiritual origin, spiritual nature, identification and purpose
2.) Collective application of Spiritual Truth, Prayer and Appreciation
3.) Social application of worship, service and alumni association

WE BELIEVE that the Divinity Center and the Universal Foundation for Better Living is a vehicle for the spreading of such a teaching.

WE BELIEVE that a mighty new wind is blowing. People everywhere are hungry for practical techniques that will show them how to fulfill the good desires of their hearts. We in the Divinity Center and the Universal Foundation for Better Living believe that we have these techniques and we offer them to everyone without distinction, confident that with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can teach all who are willing to learn how to overcome whatever would keep them from their highest good.
